CONNECT. INSPIRE. INFLUENCE.

Eric.  Whatcha Doing?

Yesterday I had a couple of people reach out to me and asking why you had my name after: ‘Don’t Disrespect’ – in the title of the Musing yesterday.

The reason.  I was trying to see if the open rate went up yesterday.  From the daily email that gets sent to hundreds of people we usually get right around 27-30% of the emails open and read.  Yesterday that spiked to 38%.

Both are phenomenal.

I know business owners/marketers that get 3-5% open rate when they send emails.  And I, on average, get 10x open rate than traditional marketers.

Why?

The #1 reason is that none of my emails are pre-written.  (See the picture above?  I received 4 emails all within a minute with the same headline.  Think these were pre-written?  Think these are cookie cutter?  Now, I need to give the people credit, ATLEAST they sent something!  These emails will get the 3-5% open rate.  While mine get 10x that amount)

The reason we get 10X the opens is because they aren’t cookie cutter.  I don’t subscribe to a service that sends out emails for me.  I start thinking about what I’m going to write to you the day before.

It’s good for the brain.  To keep thinking and moving the narrative forward…

#2- I’m telling Stories.

#3- I’m not selling anything (NOT TRUE, I’ll get to that in a second)

But back to #2.  Each day I’m just documenting my thoughts, the ups and downs of business, life, parenthood, entrepreneurship.  Not all rainbows and unicorns.  But I do this through Stories, through parables each day.  It keeps you, a friend of mine, entertained and informed.  When we see each other you never have to ask me, “Whatcha up to?”  I do my best to divulge as much as possible about my journey.

#3-  Although I’m not selling in my emails I am opening up who I am and what I believe in each day.  And, ultimately, if you like what you read and you feel a connection and you say to yourself ‘I like the way this guy thinks’ – (a Fletcherism) then when it comes to sell a home, to invite someone to be on the Podcast, to become a member of ImpactClub® you know the reason why I am doing it.

Just like with ImpactClub® and why I jumped on the opportunity when Ryan Fletcher asked if I would like to be a local co-founder.  I explained to you the reason why ---- because at my late cousins’ , Justin and Zack, who were basically my cousins and best friends, when their lives ended way too soon at 35 and 41 respectively that at their funerals the Stories that we heard from EVERYONE about each of them impacted and influenced other people lives.

About the Legacy they had.  About how they made others feel when they were in their presence.

ImpactClub®, it is my passion project to do more and to leave a legacy.  Not just how many homes I sell, or how many people I interview on FrederickAdviceGivers™ or how many books I write.  But to help local people give back to deserving charities and provide a platform for giving… That is what’s important, giving back over $168,000 since the start of 2017 to 7 local charities.

When I ask you to join me… Through story I annunciate my purpose and my why ImpactClub® is important.  And if the mission and vision compels you, you like the 270+ other members know that giving back locally can help leave a legacy far and beyond what we do on a daily basis.

The quote at the beginning is true on so many levels.  Stories Connect.  Stories Inspire.  Stories Influence.

And once you can properly tell a Story (there is a formula) it takes time and practice and research.
